Jimmy Stewart Museum Award goes to comedienne Carol Burnett. Burnett was recently honored by a museum in Pennsylvania, one that is dedicated to the actor Jimmy Stewart.

Stewart is a Hollywood icon that Burnett has gotten smitten with over the years. She started idolizing Stewart when she was still a toddler when she first watched a movie in the cinema with her grandmother in San Antonio, Texas.

Burnett shared before she received the Jimmy Stewart Museum Award, "I saw this long, tall drink of water up there in black and white, and I said, 'He's my friend. I know him.' And it came to pass."

She was given the museum's prestigious Harvey Award during a fundraiser event on Friday. The event was held in the honor of the James M. Stewart Museum Foundation, which has its headquarters in the actor's Pennsylvania hometown, Indiana. This is actually around 72 kilometers to the northeast of Pittsburgh and the banquet was several miles away in Blairsville.

Previous winners of the Jimmy Stewart Museum Award were Ernest Borgnine, Shirley Jones, Janet Leigh, and Rich Little. Little is the funny impressionist who has gotten famous because of his stammering imitation of Stewart. The award is named for a 1950 film where Stewart befriended an invisible rabbit. The Jimmy Stewart Museum Award is typically awarded to someone who has entertainment industry connections to Stewart.

The 81-year-old Burnett actually has quite a few professional connections with Stewart, as compared to the other personalities who have won the Jimmy Stewart Museum Award in the past, as the other names have experience in working with Stewart professionally. However, no past winner has a deeper emotional connection.

In fact, Burnett spoke of Stewart quite highly. She even said that she oftentimes called Stewart her idol. She said, "I have talked about him. I have worshipped him."
