Pakistan drone launched by the United States killed at least four people who are suspected to be militants, according to the statement the Pakistani officials made on Sunday. The drone attack was made on Sunday afternoon in Karikot, which is located in the South Waziristan tribal region.

A particular vehicle that was parked near a house was the actual target of the Pakistan drone, as stated by an official of the local administration. The official agreed to talk in exchange for anonymity since he was not authorized to talk about the strike to the media.

Two of those who are believed to have been killed by the Pakistan drone are citizens of Arab nations. However, their identities were not confirmed.

This recent Pakistan drone was actually the second American drone strike within a week and is the first one in the South Waziristan area in nearly a full year.

Just last Wednesday, a Pakistan drone was launched in the Datta Khel region, which is adjacent to the North Waziristan tribal region. This Pakistan drone got to kill at least 10 people who were believed to be militants.

The Pakistani military force is presently engaged in an offensive move against the militants who have been operating in North Waziristan. On Sunday, the military even said that fighter jets were able to kill at least 15 militants in the air strikes that targeted the five hide out areas in the Shawal area of the tribal region.

According to the Pakistani military, they have been successful in their campaign against the South Waziristan militants since they initiated their military offensive back in 2009. Sadly, however, the militants are still able to maintain their presence in the said region.

Pakistan drones are actually extremely unpopular in the country. In fact, drone strikes are viewed as a breach of the country's sovereignty by the USA. Moreover, human rights activists have also heavily criticized the drone strikes, stating that they have only resulted in a huge number of casualties, most of which were believed to be civilians.
