Matt Smith "Doctor Who" has swapped carrying around the sonic screwdriver with weapons to kill zombies. The actor will again travel time but this time around Jane Austen's world. Smith is set to star in the film adaptation of the horror-comedy novel, "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies."

After starring in four seasons, Matt Smith "Doctor Who" will now be joining the cast of "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies." The film is set for production on September 24 with cast members namely Sam Riley, Bella Heathcote, Douglas Booth, Lily James and Jack Huston.

In the film, Matt Smith "Doctor Who" shall play the part of Mr. Collins. Collins is currently on the lookout for a suitable wife thus proposes to Bennett, played by Lily James. Liz Bennett is the protagonist of the story where she is pressured to marry a wealthy man. However, Bennett has other things in mind which include defending her home in the countryside against zombies.

The film starring Matt Smith "Doctor Who" will be produced by Allison Shearmur, Natalie Portman, Brian Oliver, Sean McKittrick, March Butan, Tyler Thompson and Annette Savitch.

Before "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," Matt Smith "Doctor Who" was part of "Terminator: Genisys." The actor was joined by Emilia Clarke of "Game of Thrones" and Jason Clarke. In "Lost River," Matt Smith will be joined by Christina Hendricks, Ryan Gosling's girlfriend Eva Mendes and Saoirse Ronan. The film tells the tale of a mother swept into an underworld of darkness while her son discovers an underwater town. The film is set for debut on February 2015.
