In the latest trade rumors involving the Chicago Bulls, the team is reportedly trying to acquire veteran shooting guard Kevin Martin from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Mike Dunleavy, Tony Snell and a second-round pick. Let's breakdown this proposed trade and see if there's any likelihood it's going to happen.

Proposed Transaction & Source of Rumors

The Bulls sending small forward Mike Dunleavy, shooting guard Tony Snell and a second round pick in 2015 to Timberwolves for Kevin Martin.

Sports Illustrated Fan Sided writer Ronald Agers tackled this trade rumor in his latest Pippen Ain't Easy Column, believing the Bulls and T-Wolves could somehow work out this transaction to fill voids in their roster.

Meat of the Trade

The Bulls have loaded up their frontline this offseason with the acquisition of power forward Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic. The return of Derrick Rose from an MCL injury is also another optimistic sign the Bulls are set to become a serious contender this coming season.

However, the Chicago franchise still needs to add some depth and capable scorer at the shooting guard position. According to veteran Bulls writer Sam Smith, the team tried to reach out for veteran shooter Ray Allen, who remains iffy to tell his decision.

On the other hand, the Timberwolves is just fresh from pulling off an earth-shaking of a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, sending franchise player Kevin Love in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and a first-rounder. They also made a separate transaction with the Philadelphia 76ers for Thaddeus Young.

With the T-Wolves seem to be set for a youth revolution, the 31-year old Martin is seen as the odd-man in the lineup.

Benefit of the Trade

Acquiring Martin would give the Bulls a capable shooter and an excellent catch-and-shoot artist just like Allen. Martin's presence would also allow the coaching staff to put defensive ace Jimmy Butler in his natural position at small forward, where he's most effective.

The T-Wolves, meanwhile, will get a productive expiring contract in Dunleavy along with another excellent young player in Snell. A second-rounder in 2015 also makes this deal sweeter as the Wolves can add another pick which they could flip in an another transaction in the future.

Will The Trade Happen?

On a scale of 1-10, the chance this trade rumor happen should be set at 8. ESPN Trade Machine doesn't suggest any financial roadblock for this trade not to happen. The only thing that could put this deal to halt is when the players involved become an integral part of the unit for their respective teams. Other than that, this deal makes sense.
