Now that the Labor Day weekend has reached its end, it has become evident that summer is officially over. With this sad truth, there are some ways to shed a little light on the sad news and crushed dreams!

Summer may be over, but Winter is definitely on its way! Many people prefer the warmer weather to the snow, but all in all, it is better to make use of the upcoming seasons rather than dwell on the pass!

With a few months left to spare, not would be the perfect time to plan for a ski trip!

Skiing is such a fun and exciting experience. It is a way to get your adrenaline pumping through your veins, make new memories, and share laughter.

When thinking of Skiing, most individuals think of traveling to the Pocono Mountains. Actually, when planning any winter trip during times of heavy snow, the Pocono Mountains seems to be a popular destination.

HOWEVER, below, are the Top 2 Ski Destinations, according to U.S News and Forbes. And one additional place, which happens to be my favorite ski destination.

Vail, Colorado

According to Forbes, "No resort has marketed itself better than Vail during the last 30 years."  Vail possesses one of the best stretches of developed resort terrain in central Colorado.

With an estimate of 350 inches of snow a year, skiing in Vail, Colorado would be the optimal choice as opposed to the other resorts located on the east side of Colorado.

Vail, in itself, is a huge city. It's a great destination for plan-trekking skiers for the simple fact: there's so much to be explored. And now with high-speed quad chairs, the old two-seater chairs have now been advanced!

Vail has two very popular ski resorts: Vail Ski and Beaver Creek Ski Resort. However, do be aware that lodging in this area may be a bit pricey!

Telluride, Colorado

According to Forbes, Visiting Telluride is an experience similar to a child's first visit to Disneyland.  With a coalescence of nature, tasteful planning and disciplined development, it is made possible for Telluride to be your new Disneyland.

In Telluride, Colorado, cars are hardly ever used. The town and the mountains are essentially one society or "ecosystem" of its own. The main streets have bars and restaurants ranging from barbecue and pub dinners to elegant 5-star meals.

New for this year is more snowmaking. Although Telluride is not known to have heavy line traffic for ski lifts, the more snow means more fun!

The steep terrain existing at Telluride allows for skiers to gain most out of their experience. Now with more snow being made, it can be both family/child friendly and speed racer equivalent.

For those individuals who have never skied before, or maybe only been on one or two trips in their lifetime, the Poconos might be a trip worth your while. The following resort is not listed on Forbes or U.S News magazine, but it is a personal favorite, and one that can be recommended to anyone of all ages!

Camelback Mountain

Camelback Mountain is not one of the most famous ski resorts, but it is a place with great reviews.  There are sixteen lifts in total and thirty-four trails. Within these trails about 40% are dedicated to skiers at a beginners level.

Camelback is one of the few ski resorts in PA that offer 100% snowmaking on all one hundred, sixty-six acres of terrain! Unfortunately, only about ten percent of the trails are dedicated to skiers at expert level.

As a family oriented resort, these statistics are no surprise. With Camelback's mission being, "To live and breathe fun, Camelback style," safety would be one way to make sure all families enjoy every minute of their ski trip!
