According to a source, it was the New York City Fire Department who quickly brought Joan Rivers hospitalized to Mount Sinai Hospital after they got a call that she went into cardiac arrest while at Yorkville Endoscopy.

The spokesperson of Mount Sinai Hospital confirmed that Joan Rivers hospitalized was, indeed, within their premises. Sid Dinsay said, "This morning, Joan Rivers was taken to the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she is being attended to. Her family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support. We will provide an update on her condition as it becomes available."
