Rory McIlroy Caroline Wozniacki - The Northern Irishman just recently made an epic win bringing home with him for the second time the Wanamaker Trophy.

On Aug. 10, the 25-year-old beat opponent Phil Mickelson, 44, by just a single stroke, and his victory is said to be attributed to Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki's break up, according to Telegraph.

The championship held at the Valhalla Golf Club was at first delayed due to rain for almost two hours, but that didn't stop Rory McIlroy from winning the title.

Since Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki went their separate ways in May, the golf pro is said to have already won the flagship event on the European Tour plus the Open and his first World Golf Championship event, Hollywood Life has learned.

When asked about the major change in his personal life and his recent triumphs, the World No. 1 came pretty safe with his answers, talking about his split with Caroline Wozniacki indirectly, although the reference is quite unmistakable.

"I think what happened has been for the better in terms of my golf," he said referring to the Rory McIlroy Caroline Wozniacki break up which happened just days after their wedding invitations were sent out.

"I've put a bit more time into it and it has refocused me. I mean, what else do I have to do now? I go to the golf course, I go to the gym and it's just my life at the minute. I worked pretty hard before but the past couple of months I've really just buried myself in my game. It obviously works pretty well, so I am going to keep doing it," he added.

Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki called off their engagement after the golf star got cold feet saying he realized he was not yet ready to settle down.

The athlete, who is estimated to be worth £28million then, proposed to Danish tennis player Caroline, on New Year's Eve in Sydney, Australia.
