Andrej Pejic surprised, and impressed, a lot of people associated in the fashion world, as he crossed the catwalk during women's wear runway shows for internationally renowned designers, such as Jean Paul Gaultier and Marc Jacobs, in 2011.

However, it looks like Andrej Pejic has just made some significant changes to himself on one July afternoon. He is spotted wearing a nameplate necklace made of gold, reading "Andreja." This necklace falls just at the right spot on his chest for all onlookers to easily see. Although it may seem that Andrej Pejic is only wearing a golden accessory, this necklace is actually his method of revealing to the world that he is now, officially, a woman.

Andrej Pejic, internationally renowned androgynous model, has just gone through a sex re-assignment surgery earlier this year to officially make himself a woman. He informed People during an exclusive interview, "I want to share my story with the world because I think I have a social responsibility. I hope that by being open about this, it becomes less of an issue."

The now-female Andrej Pejic further explained, "I always dreamt of being a girl. One of my earliest memories is spinning around in my mom's skirt trying to look like a ballerina. I wanted to be a good kid and I wanted to please my parents." He further shared that he tried to hang out with fellow boys and also convinced himself to take on some team sports. He said, "I kept my dreams and my imagination to myself and became pretty good at acting as a boy. But I was hiding who I was.'

Andre Pejic then recalled about the day when he finally got the opportunity to achieve what he has always wanted. He said, "I was happy the moment had come - as happy as you can be before a surgery."
