The Cleveland Cavaliers pursuit of Kevin Love remains alive and kicking, as Andrew Wiggins' signing of his rookie deal makes the trade easier to make, according to ESPN NBA correspondent Marc Stein.

In his latest report, the veteran NBA insider suggested that the Cavaliers and the Timberwolves would ultimately make the blockbuster trade that is going to change the landscape in the NBA.

Few days ago, ESPN NBA insider Chris Broussard reported about the Cavaliers' willingness to add Wiggins (2014 first overall pick), Anthony Bennett (2013 first overall pick) and a first-round pick in 2015 in a trade package for Love.

However, this potentially earth-shaking trade was put on hold temporarily after the Cavs decided to sign Wiggins to a rookie deal worth $5 million to $6 million. Many basketball fans believed the deal would have ended the Cavs' attempt to get Love, but Stein thinks the other way around.

"Expectation is Andrew Wiggins, the no.1 overall pick, is going to sign his rookie deal in the next few days." Stein said in recent interview on ESPN. "Once the Cavs signed him, they will have to wait 30 days before they trade him."

"But once he signed, he has a contract value of $5 million to $6 million. It makes the trade easier to construct. And that is one of the thing Cleveland resting on here. Do you sign Wiggins now or try to put a different trade together where you don't have to wait for 30 days but then he has no salary value."

Wiggins is considered as a terrific talent with a great upside. However, the Cavs understands that LeBron James wants to have a team of reliable veterans around him and Love appears to be a perfect running mate in his quest to bring a title to Cleveland.

Stein believed the Cavaliers are the clear-cut frontrunners to get Love because of the tempting trade package they have, but he doesn't rule out the Golden State Warriors in the equation, as they only needed to include shooting guard Klay Thompson in the package that also includes All-Star power forward David Lee to make the deal work.

But as of now, it's clearly the Cavaliers who have the driving seat in this forthcoming offseason trade.
