Veteran sharpshooter Ray Allen is interested to play again alongside four-time MVP LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to a source close to the situation on Monday.

Allen, who will turn 39-years old this coming July 20, is reportedly considering to extend his playing career for another season as he looks to get shot at another NBA championship.

Despite reports about Allen's forthcoming retirement, Pro Basketball Draft reported that Allen is willing to accept the veteran minimum with the Cavaliers, who will boast James, All-Star playmaker Kyrie Irving, 2014 no.1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins and potentially Kevin Love next season.

"Ray Allen is willing to play for the veteran minimum in Cleveland, according to sources. #Cavs," Pro Basketball Draft posted on its Twitter page on Monday.

Jesus Shuttleworth Adds Depth To Cavs Bench

Allen averaged 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game and shot 37.5 percent from beyond the arc throughout the season. Without a doubt, Allen's three-point shooting and experience would be a great addition to a Cavs bench that needs more firepower.

Moreover, it's also a win-win situation Allen because he doesn't need to log in more minutes of the floor in the regular-season. With a roster filled with up-and-coming youngster, Allen can serve the role as a mentor to these young guys and become a big contributor off the bench in the postseason.

Allen's ability to stretch the defense would be beneficial not only to James but also to Irving and Wiggins, who are explosive penetrators.

Cavs Closing in On Mike Miller

Aside from Allen, James might be also teaming up again with Mike Miller. Miller, who averaged 7.1 points per game with 1.6 assists and 2.5 rebounds with the Memphis Grizzlies, is reportedly exploring every option to reunite with James in Cleveland.

The 34-year old Miller was previously being pursued by the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets, but his name had suddenly floated around as a possible acquisition for the Cavaliers the moment James announced his decision to return home in Cleveland.
