Jennifer Lopez has a new documentary series she entitled, "Los Jets." This new show will be about the illegal immigration debate in the United States. The show will be making its small screen debut on NuvoTV on the 16th of July.

Jennifer Lopez's new show will be focusing on the soccer team of a high school in North Carolina as majority of its members are young Latino men. Apparently, majority of whom have actually entered the United States on illegal grounds.

Jennifer Lopez said during a LULAC luncheon on Thursday, "It is about the American dream and social and politic issues. But also, it's about just wanting to belong."

It is a six-part documentary series with each and every one of its episodes documenting the issues that are currently being faced by this "underdog" team from North Carolina. They are fighting not only to win their soccer games, but also to achieve the one thing that they have always dreamed of, which is to finally become legalized.

The show "Los Jets" was filmed last fall and the series follows the endeavors of the young boys as they strive to get into the semi-finals, apart from facing the common issues that average American teenage boys need to overcome. Their lives are very much relatable to every other teenager, no matter where they are from or what nationality they have. Their struggle to make post-graduation plans is very evident, just like their struggle to deal with the usual drama that surrounds their parents.

Jennifer Lopez was named the COO of NuvoTV in 2013. Since then, the "Jenny from the Block" singer has produced numerous media projects for a wide assortment of networks, such as ABC Family's "The Fosters", Univision's "Q'Viva! The Chosen," and a new cop drama of NBC, "Shades of Blue."
