Novak Djokovic is expected to marry his longtime girlfriend Jelena Ristic this week, and it is reported that fellow ATP player Andy Murray will serve as his best man during the wedding ceremony.

On the other hand, the odds are pretty bleak for Rafael Nadal to attend the event given the Spanish busy schedule and the tenuous off-court rapport he had with the Serb the past few years.

According to a report in Serbia, Djokovic originally set his marriage a week before the Wimbledon Open championships at the Aman Sveti Stefan in Montenegro, with the Adriatic Coast serving as the backdrop of the ceremony.

"Original reports had the right location at the Aman Sveti Stefan in Montenegro, on the Adriatic coast, but the date (a week before the start of Wimbledon) wrong," according to Yahoo Sports.

"This report from the Daily Mail claims that was the correct date, but that Djokovic changed his mind at the last minute to "focus on Wimbledon."

However, Djokovic decided to postpone the weeding in the last minute so he would have to focus on his Wimbledon Open campaign. The Djoker eventually won his second Wimbledon crown and seventh Grand Slam title after outlasting Roger Federer in a five-set thriller 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 5-7, 6-5 last Sunday.

Upcoming Wedding For Djokovic

Although Djokovic hasn't released an exact date of his big day, many speculate the weeding will happen sometime this week. Murray, who has been Djokovic's buddy in the ATP circuit, will likely get the nod as his best man, but there are questions if the other fabled members of the Big Four will get invited.

Tennis.com provides a glimpse of what to expect in Djokovic's grand wedding with Ristic. Murray certainly topped the guest list, while Russian beauty Maria Sharapova and his man Grigor Dimitrov are also set to grace the event.

As for Federer and Nadal, the Swiss Maestro may likely take a vacation or stay home with his newest pair of twins. Moreover, the recent heartbreaking loss to Djokovic could be another reason for Federer to forego the date.

Nadal is also set to begin his intense hardcourt training in preparation for the US Open championship. Moreover, Nadal and Djokovic haven't been best of friends since their rivalry became more intense as of late.

"Rafa will likely be too busy recovering and training in Spain after a shocking early exit in London, and the two haven't been as chummy as usual lately, but it's in his blood to enjoy a good party," Tennis News stated in its virtual and hypothetical wedding invitation made for Djokovic.
