North Korea cyber war seems to be a growing concern for the country. According to a new report released Sunday, the North Korea cyber war is being primed for by the country by doubling its number of elite cyber warriors.

Over the past two years, the new report has revealed that the North Korea cyber war is being combated by adding personnel to its established overseas bases for hacking attacks.

According to the South's Yonhap news agency, from an elite force of 3,000 two years ago, North's cyber war unit has already increased to 5,900 personnel.

A military source who revealed that North Korea has elite hackers carrying out cyber attacks from bases in China and elsewhere was quoted as saying, with regard to the North Korea cyber war, 'The communist country operates a hacking unit under its General Bureau of Reconnaissance, which is home to some 1,200 professional hackers.'

The source said that North Korean hackers have launched cyber attacks through overseas bases in different countries, of which includes China.

The AFP reports that in recent years, hackers have also used malware deployments and virus-carrying emails for cyber attacks. The attacks are usually on South Korean military institutions, but it does not stop there either. Since North Korea follows a type of communism that which considers capitalism an enemy, the hacking attacks have also targeted commercial banks, government agencies, TV broadcasters and media websites.

While the North has denied any inkling to the North Korea cyber war, there have been investigations into past large-scale cyber assaults, which apparently revealed that these attacks originated in North Korea.

Meanwhile, Seoul accused the North of constructing the North Korea cyber war to increase the tension across the border.
