If it has been a while since you have had a real family vacation, you are not alone. Furthermore, you will probably be so anxious to get out that you will end up forgetting a few things that will ultimately reduce the enjoyment of your vacation.

It is easy to forget to check the coverage for your much-delayed vacation. No one likes to think about the worst possible thing that could happen on a trip where they are going for the most possible fun they can have. They never consider what they might do if they get into a serious accident while in another country.

It is understandable. A vacation engenders a heightened sense of excitement and anticipation. You are not thinking clearly. Excitement has that effect on everyone. You enter an altered state when you are overly excited or relieved. You are so relieved when you get home after a long day of work that you just whip off your glasses and drop your keys on the nearest surface without a thought to the next time you will need them. The next morning, you are late for work because you had to turn the house upside-down to find your glasses and your Keyes. You don't want to go to work without them. And you don't want to go on vacation without the following:

Sleep Gummies

No one thinks about sleep when going on vacation. Instead, they think about all the fun and entertainment that will keep them bar crawling into the wee hours of the morning. By the time they get up for the second day's adventuring, they are wiped out and only want to get back in bed.

If you really want to make the most of your days, spend your night in restful sleep by taking your sleep gummies just like you would on a work night. Vacationing is serious business and you need all the energy and focus you can get if you want to do it right. It is important to have focus when you are on vacation because you will be able to better avoid some of the common pitfalls such as the following:

  • Losing things

  • Getting robbed

  • Getting lost

  • Losing track of what you've spent

These things happen when you are tired and unfocused. They can quickly turn your dream vacation into a nightmare. So be sure to get the rest you need, especially when you are far from home.

Extra Headphones

You have long since been able to get expensive headphones from airport vending machines. People often pay a king's ransom for those headphones and other smartphone accessories because they were in such a hurry to start their vacation that they left those essential bits behind. Rushing out the door can be expensive. You might think you wouldn't pay that ransom for a pair of headphones until you find yourself facing a 12 hour flight while sitting just a few feet away from a noisy jet engine.

Be sure to pack extra headphones besides your daily drivers. If you use wireless headphones, the battery has a way of running out at the least opportune time. You should pack an extra pair of cheap, wired headphones so you will have something to wear while your main ones are charging. You will also be glad to have something if your main headphones are lost or stolen.

An Empty Bag

You are going to have to pay the airline a fee for extra bags. But it is well worth the fee. The simple truth that everyone ignores is that they will be bringing home more than they took with them. It is also true that packing for the return trip home is usually more careless than before you left home. You are going to need an overflow bag just for the stuff you brought with you. And if you haven't been on vacation in a while, you are going to shop for souvenirs from a new keychain of the Santa Monica Pier, a mini desk ornament of the Hollywood sign or even a stuffed seal from the La Jolla Cove. Unless you plan to ship those trinkets to yourself from abroad (a really bad idea financially), you will be glad you brought an extra bag.

If you are going on vacation but are a little out of practice, make a note to bring your sleep gummies, extra headphones, and an empty bag for all your vacation treasures.
