When trying to book travel flights, the first thing we do is compare! We compare prices between different hotels, flights, and maybe even car rentals. But not all of us compare prices between the months of the year.

Almost ever month has a holiday, and so it might be hard to believe that some months can be cheaper than others depending on your destination.

Of course price of travel depends on where you are going, BUT time of the year is an important factor. Here are some examples of the cheapest places and their corresponding months.

JANUARY

It is hard to believe that anywhere is cheap because of the New Year's holiday. However, waiting only a week after new years can definitely decrease the prices in hotels and in airfare.

In San Francisco, you can have a "Belated-New Year's party" without the heavy crowds. After all the fun, make time to explore the Golden Gate Park, mountain bike on Mount Tamaulipas, or sip espresso while scanning the San Francisco Chronicle.

FEBRUARY

Valentine's day is when all the hotels try and scam you for your money. It's the unfortunate truth, however, when trying to travel for a little romantic getaway, the cheapest places to travel in February are either the Netherlands or Ireland.

In Ireland, you will experience some chilly weather, but good thing you can also buy great sweaters at their shopping centers!

In the Netherlands, you might experience a more introverted population, but if staying indoors describes your ideal vacation, there are great places to view art that are indoors.

IN MARCH...

Los Angeles has much fewer crowds at the bigger attractions. On a more global perspective, Italy can be decent in pricing. Although the weather in unstable, visiting in March is still worth the trip for the money you will be saving compared to the high summer rates.

APRIL

This is usually the month where people travel for Easter, however in Jamaica the rates drop around the 15th. In Jamaica the sun is always warm and the beaches are always a beautiful sight! This would be a great Easter gift!

MAY

May is the cheapest time to visit Hawaii! I almost couldn't believe this myself! Hawaii is popular year round, however it's cheapest right BEFORE the wedding and honeymoon season, which happen to fall in the month of may. - Can anyone say Happy Mother's Day?

Even though these next few months fall into summe,r June, July and August are cheaper than others for specific places.

JUNE

Phoenix may be cheap, but this is one of the hottest months of the year. Ever hear the expression of "cooking eggs on the sidewalk?" - That might be a possibility in Phoenix, so bring sunscreen and lots of tank tops!

JULY

Want to learn Spanish? El Paso-Juarez, Mexico has cheap flights and hotels when visiting the Mexican/American border. It is also very hot, but summer is summer right? It's surprising how being so close to the American Border can make such a difference.

Maybe something a little fancy - Memphis. It is hot and humid there, but it can even get humid in New York City, and tourists are here all the time! Do not let crazy weather affect your fun!

August

August is cheapest when visiting Las Vegas! There is dry heat, with temperatures over 100, but a local states that sometimes it can still feel cool because of 0 humidity! Even with scorching heat, I am sure all the casinos are equipped with Air Conditioners.

SEPTEMBER

Now would be the best time to visit Japan, or even Orlando, Florida. Depending on where you go in Japan, temperatures will range from cool and comfy to hot and sticky.

Orlando, Florida had comfortable weather year round, however sometimes the rainy days can be a hinder. With the kids back in school, September is the best month for adults to enjoy the attractions without being overwhelmed with tiny humans!

OCTOBER

I do not want to scare you, but In St. Martin, October is hurricane season, hense the cheap airfares. However, it does not necessarily look like death on the streets, and there may be more sunny days than rainny ones.

If not St. Martin, Costa Rica has surprisingly cool weather within this month and can be worth the trip!

NOVEMBER

The cheapest time to visit the Dominican Republic would be in November. Might not be the ideal time to visit DR, and this is also the month that is known for hurricane season. But just because it may be hurricane season does not mean you will experience one.

Hurricane season officially end within the last week of November.

DECEMBER

Ever thought about visiting Greece? Now would be the perfect time to go! During your Christmas vacation you can visit the beautiful sun and warm isles. This might be perfect for a christmas gift because the prices can be low while the excitment is high!

If you embrace the colder weather, Germany can be the place to visit! Need to buy last minute Christmas gifts as well? - Germany's Christmas markets are great for picking up cheap gifts while traveling.

There is a saying that I have mentioned before, "You get what you pay for." So when booking cheap flights, you will be forced to forfeit a lot of benefits.

If you do not like the heat but really want to go to places like Phoenix or Las Vegas, you would really have to consider your weather tolerance. Maybe a list of pros and cons can help you make a solid decision.

Hurricane seasons may scare you, but maybe a little risk might be worth the money you save! If you prefer to enjoy a place before the crowds arrive or after they have cleared out, you can save as much as 50 percent by visiting these places in the specified months.

It all depends on if you care for traveling during the off-seasons!
