Competition gets tougher as Meryl Davis and partner Maks, advances into another round of 'Dancing with the Stars' season 18.

The dance showdown continues as four dancing pairs proceed to the 10th week of the competition which is due next week. Included in the remaining contestants are Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas; James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd; Amy Purdy and Derek Hough; and Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Dancing with the Stars week 9 was a great challenge for the competitors as they performed two routines.

Monday night's episode was something that greatly needs a lot of time for rehearsals. The dance floor was again heated as all the dancing contestants performed two routines, the Jive and the Viennese Waltz. Top performers of the night were Meryl Davis and Maksim as they scored a perfect 40 for each routine.

The Dancing with the Stars top dancing pair's performance for week nine was appreciated by the judges. Most of them were blown away by the dramatic and emotional dance that the duo delivered to the audience. As a result, they were not sent home.

A lot of preparation for each routine is needed to come up with a great performance; however, time is a constant competitor since only 6 days are given to them. Meryl Davis whose partner is Maks, recently told Parade that the hardest thing about the Dancing with the Stars is the limited amount of time allotted for them to master the dance which will greatly affect their standing in the said competition. The dancing couple was also rumored to be sharing the incredible chemistry they have even off -screen.

One of the highlights of Dancing with the Stars season 18 is the chemistry that the figure skater and her dancing partner shares on the dance floor. There are even gossips saying that Meryl Davis and Maksim are dating in real life as they are often seen looking cozy with each other. The two were even spotted kissing each other backstage, according to rumors. Furthermore, no confirmation was made from the dancing duo about their blossoming romance while they again prepare for another tough dance battle.
