Sarah Hyland and boyfriend Matt Prokop have been one of the sweetest young couples in the showbiz industry, so it is not surprising that every now and then they get asked if they are already planning to tie the knot, or if they have - like other celeb couples - already secretly married each other.

Wetpaint was one of the first entertainment news sites to question whether the 'Modern Family' actress Sarah Hyland has already sealed the deal with boyfriend Matt Prokop. However, it seems the answer to the question is still a big uncertainty as both parties have never really spoken about the real status of their relationship in public.

Dating Matt for more than four years now, Sarah Hyland told E! News that she never saw herself tying the knot at such a young age.

Additionally, Hyland slammed the rumors according to Enquirer that she and 'High School Musical 3' star Prokop were secretly engaged in 2013.

"It's all fictitious," Sarah said, adding that she is just quite happy to continue as things are now. "We've been together a long time, we're practically married. We have a dog and live together, so I'm OK with that."

According to WetPaint, Sarah Hyland's boyfriend and the 'Modern Family' star met at a 'High School Musical 2' "mix-and-match" chemistry screen test but weren't paired up. Since then they kept in touch despite the fact that Hyland was staying in New York and Prokop was living in Los Angeles. At age 19, however, the two decided to reconnect and live together.

The young couple seem to be enjoying each other's company on and off-cam. Sarah Hyland and Matt worked together on the Disney Channel movie 'Geek Charming'; Prokop has also appeared in a 'Modern Family' episode.

Last Feb. 20, Sarah Hyland got involved into a public assault when a fan allegedly groped her at a party hosted by Qantas at the Sebel Pier One in  Sydney, Australia, and her boyfriend was allegedly not there to defend her.

According to Daily Mail, a fan grabbed Sarah's breasts, which caused her to scream "Don't touch me there" prior to bursting into tears and ultimately deciding to leave the event early.

Later that night, the 23-year-old star, who plays Haley Dunphy on the hit ABC comedy, tweeted: "Sorry to all the fans outside the #qantas event that I didn't get to say hi to but I had to leave due to an inappropriate touch of a fan."

Talking about chivalry, Sarah Hyland's boyfriend Matt Prokop defended his girlfriend by tweeting, "To the a**hole who assaulted Sarah tonight I hope to God you don't see [me] next week." A few minutes later he added, "All Sarah wanted to do tonight was to say hi to the girls who were waiting outside one douche can ruin it for everyone. Goodnight."

Nonetheless, NSW Police already confirmed that "a man is assisting police with investigations following an alleged assault of a woman yesterday. It is alleged the man indecently assaulted the 23-year-old woman near Hickson Road, The Rocks, at about 7:50 p.m. A 29-year-old man was arrested. Police are continuing their investigations."
