Valerie Harper health status confirmed after a false statement saying something about her real condition was reported.

According to E! Online, the Closer Weekly reported a false quote regarding the actress's real health status. The false quote declares that the 74 year-old actress is "absolutely cancer-free". However, Valerie Harper health-related statement released on Wednesday confirms that the report telling that she's no longer dealing with cancer is entirely not true.

"In response to a recent erroneous quote concerning my health, I am not 'absolutely cancer-free." Harper said via the Hallmark Channel.

Valerie Harper health view is very optimistic as she sees future despite of her incurable illness.

 "I wish I were. Right now what I am is cautiously optimistic about my present condition and I have hope for the future." Valerie Harper added.

The American actress was known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern in the television series, "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Rhoda". Her famous role made her won four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. Even though the actress has health issues, she is currently starring in the Hallmark channel new series, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered".

The shocking news about Harper's illness first came as a revelation in 2009. Valerie Harper health condition shocked her and her family as the lifelong nonsmoker actress was diagnosed with lung cancer. In March 6, 2013, a series of tests revealed that the actress is suffering from a rare condition.

Results of the tests have confirmed that the actress has leptomeningeal carcinomatosis. It is a rare condition wherein cancer cells have spread into the meninges- a membrane that protects the brain. According to the actress, her doctors told her that she only have three months to live.

Her terminal illness may sound very discouraging but the actress is positive about her health. During her interview with Closer Weekly, she said that her last scans have been positive and her doctors were very glad about the positive response on Valerie Harper's health. The actress who is on chemotherapy is also under a "pulse-dose" treatment wherein the patient takes multiple pills at one time.

"My cancer is incurable and terminal, but guess what? Not today... There is all manner of suffering in the world, not all of it by any stretch related just to cancer or to illness, but all kinds of suffering." Harper told PEOPLE on Wednesday.
