Mexican boxing legend Juan Manuel Marquez said he will fight Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao again, perhaps for the last time before Marquez retires from the sport.

According to sources within Top Rank Promotions, Marquez has expressed his desire to fight the winner of the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley WBO welterweight title bout in April. The fight will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Top Rank promotes both Pacquiao and Marquez.

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum said he would be delighted to put both fighters in the same ring again. Arum stated he could easily pull the fight off, considering the fact that Pacquiao and Marquez are bitter rivals who want to get the better of each other.

In their last four fights, Pacquiao has the edge in terms of victories, settling for a draw in their first encounter and subsequently winning the next two bouts by close margins.

However, it is Marquez who is deemed by the boxing community as the visible winner and now has the upper hand in the series by obliterating the Filipino slugger in their last fight.

A strong counter right cross from Marquez knocked Pacquiao out cold in the 6th round of their last fight in December 2012.

After the loss, Pacquiao pursued a 5th fight with Marquez. However, the Mexican opted for a title bout against Timothy Bradley, who previously defeated Pacquiao in a controversial manner 20 months ago.

But with time closing fast on Marquez, Arum believes the Mexican wants to notch another milestone to his name before he finally hangs up his gloves. The 40-year old Marquez aims to win a world title in the welterweight division, his 5th weight class.

Achieving so will make him the only Mexican boxer ever to win world titles in five weight divisions.

And if he has to fight Pacquiao again, then so be it.
