Raul Ochoa, a Californian resident, held his female relative captive for over 14 years and made her his sex slave.

Last week, Ochoa admitted to the crime of making his developmentally-disabled female relative a sex slave for 14 years.

According to WPTV, the 52-year-old consented to a plea deal Wednesday where he will serve his sentence for 22 years without his victim having to testify to the courts.

The relative was allegedly abused starting at the age of 13. Eventually, the young girl escaped in 2012 with the help of a relative. Police say the story has just been put on the spotlight recently because Raul Ochoa is a very close relative of the victim's family.

According to Mercury News, Ochoa called the victim from jail in order to scare her so she wouldn't work together with the police. He even asked his mother's help to call the victim.

In a restraining order petition written by the victim, she said "(Ochoa's mother) is trying to track me down and intimidate me into saying that I lied," and added, "(Ochoa) has convinced her that I lied about the abuse. Both (Ochoa) and (Ochoa's mother) believe that if I do not cooperate, the criminal case will be dismissed."

The suspect is now already under a restraining order which impedes him from being able to contact the victim or her three relatives in any form.

The now 26-year-old victim was known to have been subjected to repeated physical and sexual abuse from 1999 to 2012, says KTRK reports.

Deputy District Attorney Ryan Wagner stated in an interview, "In that home she was basically, through the use of emotional and psychological pressure as well as sexual abuse, forced to participate in horrific acts for an extended period of time,"
