Carmen Carrera is dead. At least that's what the Internet is saying. However the transgender model didn't die. She's just the victim of an Internet death hoax. Carrera is just fine.

Reports surfaced this week saying that the reality TV star and model died in a Jet Ski accident. A report by Global Associated News reads, "Actress Carmen Carrera died while on a personal vacation in Turks and Caicos early this morning from injuries sustained in a Jet-Ski accident - December 4, 2013. Preliminary reports from Turks and Caicos Police officials indicate that the actress struck a concrete boat slip in a marina on Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Carmen Carrera was the only passenger on the personal watercraft at the time of the incident. Specific details are not yet available.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. (UTC/GMT -4 hours)."

Since there are so many details, it may be easy to believe, but the report is fake. Global Associated News creates fake death reports through a generator. A message at the bottom of the site reads, "FAKE... THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes! this story was dynamically generated using a generic 'template' and is not factual. Any reference to specific individuals has been 100% fabricated by web site visitors who have created fake stories by entering a name into a blank 'non-specific' template for the purpose of entertainment."

Carrera isn't dead. She's campaigning to become Victoria Secret's first transgender model. However despite it being nothing more than a rumor, fans took to Twitter to question and mourn the death of the model. Some examples of tweets include:

"wait! What?! Carmen carrera Died in a jet ski accident?!"
"I just heard that @carmen_carrera died? is this true? here's the link to some news article http://carmen.carrera.mediafetcher.com/news/top_stories/jet_ski_turks_and_caicos.php ..."
"I just can't right now. I'm about to cry. Like she can't be dead. She can't be. Turn on your f***ing phone @carmen_carrera"
