In another battle of the sexes, a recent survey shows that women go on vacation more often than men, but both sexes procrastinate when it comes to packing.

According to an annual survey of travelers by SpringHill Suites hotels, women vacation every 10 months while men go on vacation every 12 months. However it found that both sexes are packing procrastinators. According to the survey, 50 percent of Americans wait until the day before of the day they leave to pack. Men are bigger procrastinators as 54 percent of men and 46 percent of women pack within a day of leaving, USA Today reports.

The survey, which was conducted online from March 12-19, included responses from 1,048 Americans ages 18 or older.

The survey also showed that travelers with children take a vacation every eight months on average while those without go on vacation every 14 months.

It also reveals that Americans aren't taking enough vacations. Roughly 20 percent of respondents said they can't go a month without feeling like they need a break and most said they can only go six months without feeling the need to go on vacation.

Nine out of 10 Americans said they wish they had more vacation days. One in four said they don't get any paid vacation days.

Those who do get to travel are likely to visit a U.S. City or an off-the-beaten-path destination in the next five years and families with children are even more likely to do so.

Many travelers turn who use social media said they learned about a new vacation spot from a friend's post.

With the economy improving, 47 percent of Americans aren't looking for a staycation anymore as they don't consider a vacation to be a vacation unless they pack up and leave town. Most Americans have travel budgets, but 40 percent admit to breaking them.
