From supermodel to superhero.

Heidi Klum saved her son, Henry and two of their family caretakers from drowning this weekend.

The 39-year-old "Project Runway" host and "American's Got Talent" judge was vacationing in Oahu, Hawaii with her family when an enormous riptide swept up the young boy and his nannies.

Once Klum and her bodyguard boyfriend Martin Kristen saw the trio floundering in the ocean, they immediately sprang into action, leaping into the waves to pull them from harm's way.

"We got pulled into the ocean by a big wave," Klum told US Weekly. "Of course, as a mother, I was very scared for my child and everyone else in the water."

Seve-year-old Henry was able to swim quickly to the shore, while Klum helped the two nannies back onto the sand.

"Henry is a strong swimmer," she said. "We were able to get everyone out safely."

Entertainment Tonight captured photos of Klum's lifeguard moment that depict the mother in a multi-colored bikini leading her son by the arm, then diving back into water, foam surrounding her visage, to retrieve the shaken caretaker. Klum's teeth are clenched with fervent effort as she drags the nanny by the armpits back to land. (See photos)

Kristen is also shown holding the hand of the other nanny, collapsed on the sand from exhaustion and adrenaline, crying.

Prior to this dramatic event, Klum tweeted a photo of colorful eggs strewn along the shore with the caption, "Happy Easter!"

She had an egg hunt planned for her children Leni, 8, Johan, 6, and Lou, 3, who had been with her in Oahu since March 24th when their vacation first began.

No parties involved were seriously injured, no doubt thanks to the model who responded immediately to her motherly instinct.
