Singer/songwriter and businessman, Jimmy Buffett is expanding his brand to a time-share resort partnership with Wyndham.

USA Today reported that the time share will be located on the site of the former Renaissance Grand Beach Resort on Smith Bay. The partnership was announced and Wyndham Vacation Ownership President Chief Exec Officer Franz Hanning and Buffett announced the 262-unit resort. Construction is set to start in July and the first units could be finished about 18 months later.

Buffett told The Virgin Islands Daily News that he plans to use some of the time share units for his band and tour personnel to vacation in. He already has a home on St. Barts.

"Buffett now has about two dozen Margaritaville bars, cafes and restaurants and hotel in Pensacola, Fla., plus one due in Bossier City, La. There also are Margaritaville casinos in Vegas and Biloxi, Miss., with more to come," reported USA Today.

A Margaritaville Complex will soon be opening up in Atlantic City and should be open in May 2013.

"The Margaritaville project at Resorts is an amazing step forward for Atlantic City," said Morris Bailey, owner of Resorts Casino Hotel in a press release. "Our investment coupled with the Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville brand is a huge coup for Atlantic City and I am extremely proud to say it was Resorts and the state of New Jersey that made it happen."

Resorts Casino Hotel has 942 rooms within two towers and myriad dining and entertainment options. The addition of Margaritaville is an exciting addition for Resorts Casino Hotel.

"This is easily one of the biggest things to happen to Atlantic City since the inception of gaming in 1978," said Aaron Gomes, executive vice president of operations at Resorts Casino Hotel in the press release. "The Margaritaville and Jimmy Buffett brand is one of the most recognizable in the world and without a doubt will become the must-see attraction in Atlantic City."
