Dubai is seemingly the epicenter of new, grand developments, and in a not so understated effort they have now opened the world's largest natural flower garden, the Dubai Miracle Garden.

CNN reported that the garden is 72,000 square-meters and located in Dubailand which is "a unique multi-faceted district of sporting, entertainment, and retail attractions sitting alongside growing residential communities," says Dubailand's website.

According to a report in Gulfnews.com, the garden's landscaper, Akar, said he wanted to show "that it's possible to green the desert through judicious re-use of waste water, through drip irrigation."

The garden is now open to visitors but the garden isn't cmplete. They are also adding a shopping outlet, plant nurseries and restaurants that will be added during the second development phase.

Abdel Nasser Y. Rahhal, general manager of Akar Landscaping Services said to constructionweekonline.com "We are very proud to open Miracle Garden here in Dubai and we are confident that the well-established DUBAILAND district will serve as a great location for the project.

"We are pleased to be working with DPG on this project which we hope will increase tourist numbers to Dubai. In addition to the environmental benefits associated with this project, the Miracle Garden will provide visitors with ample outdoor recreational space and a number of retail outlets, making it an ideal family day out."

CEO of Dubailand Mohammed Al Habbai said to constructionweekonline.com that the garden is an impressive addition to Dubailand.

"The inspiration and creativity from Akar is obvious in the final result and it is a great achievement to have this project operational and catering to millions of Dubai residents and tourists from around the world," he said.

Dubailand's is already home to a number of things outside the garden including the Dubai Outlet Mall, the Global Village, MotorCity for motor racing and sporting events.

"The destination will continue to draw and host diverse attractions scheduled to open in the coming years reinforcing Dubai's position as an international hub for family tourism," reported Dubailand's website.

Other future plans for Dubailand include developments such as "City of Arabia, Palmarosa and Dubai Lifestyle City in addition to world-class attractions including Universal Studios and LEGOLAND to create a distinctive entertainment and lifestyle district in Dubai," states Dubailand's website.
