The "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is about to premiere in the U.S. on May 5, 2017, but that didn't stop Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill, to talk about what he would like his character to do next. And it's to return to his home planet, Earth.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Pratt mentioned that he is "curious to see what would happen" if his character would go home to planet Earth. This is something that he would want to see for the next installment of the movie.

"I'm curious to see what kind of trouble he got in relationship-wise before he met Gamora," Pratt said. He adds that he would also like to see what event happened to Quill to help him get to where he currently is.

Pratt adds that the movie has a lot of potential, "story wise," to make a lot of volumes due to the team capable of exploring outer space. There's also a lot more to learn about the character Peter Quill, and likely the other members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He adds the team has also yet to visit planet Earth.

It seems like the potential for Quill and the team to visit planet Earth was already in "Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn's mind. ComicBook reports that the movie was originally intended to end with a shot of Peter's grandfather looking at the photo of his deceased daughter, Peter's mother, before staring at the sky.

The report said that the scene was meant to show the grandfather reflecting on Peter's disappearance, hinting that he likely knew the younger Quill was abducted. But Gunn decided to cut the scene, saying it was too "freaking sad." Check out the trailer for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," which is set to premiere on May 5.
