This year's flagship device for HTC has been called "HTC Ocean." The device was first seen in a video released about an HTC handset which does not have any visible physical controls, and which relies only on touch, voice and gestures. Needless to say, many smartphone enthusiasts got excited about this upcoming new device.

Some people mistakenly thought that the "HTC U," "HTC Ulta," and "HTC U Play," are flagship devices. Some also assumed that the next flagship device will be named after its predecessor, hence, "HTC 11." However, Phone Arena reported that the company's next flagship device will actually be called "HTC U 11."

According to 9to5Google, HTC has sent out press invitations for the launch of its flagship phone, which will happen on May 16. Popular tipster Evan Blass said that the upcoming device, which we have previously called "Ocean" will be available in five different colors - white, black, blue, red, and silver.

The new device is said to adapt the style of the "U Ultra" and "U Play" range while keeping the flagship features of the "HTC 10." The "HTC U 11" is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch QHD display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution, and will be powered allegedly by the new Snapdragon 835 processor with an octa-core 2.45GHz CPU. It is also said to survive a plunge in the water for as deep as 3.2 feet for as long as 30-minutes.

The Bluetooth Certification of the device reveals that it will carry Bluetooth 5.0. Some speculations suggest that the "HTC U 11" will have a 4GB RAM with 64GB of native storage, and camera will be 12-megapixels rear and 16MP front-facing selfie shutter. It is expected to run on Android 7.1 out of the box, and to have a fingerprint scanner. HTC is yet to confirm the features of their new flagship phone.
