"The Walking Dead" had just concluded season 7 and the fans were a bit disappointed with the season, after a brutal opener. The show's showrunner is promising that season 8 will be more intense, saying the episodes of the latest season, which is scheduled for October 2017, will break television.

According to a report from the Metro, the series showrunner Scott Gimple appeared on the show "Talking Dead" to discuss the ending of season 7. The host of the show, Chris Hardwick, asked Gimple what fans can expect for season 8 and the showrunner some details.

"I say, 'It's gonna be bigger, it's gonna be more intense," Gimple said. He added that the first four episodes of "The Walking Dead" Season 8 will be melting "people's minds" and breaking "their televisions."

In an interview with TVLine, Gimple discussed more on what kind of war people will be expected in "The Walking Dead" Season 8 and he said it's going to be different. "There are twists and turns to it," he said, adding that the war will have "large-scale things" and "small-scale things."

He also said that the content of the series will be the one to determine how the episodes will be formed. He did say fans can expect the series to be fast-moving and kinetic.

Metro reports that season 8 of the series is scheduled to premiere in October and will continue the ongoing war between the Saviors and the alliance of Alexandria, the Kingdom, and the Hilltop. Maggie (Lauren Cohan) is now leading the charge for the Hilltop.

Fans were disappointed in how season 7 progressed, following the horrific opener. Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) met their brutal end at the hands of Negan and his barbed wire-covered baseball bat, Lucille, in episode 1.

The report said that fans wanted to see the same kind of intensity that the series opener provided and it looks like "The Walking Dead" season 8 will be promising that. Check out the ending scene of the Season 7 finale in the video below.
