Lara Flanagan, who hails from New South Wales, Australia, decided to book a trip of a lifetime by taking her twins with her to tour around the world. What's interesting is that the family of three are just living off with just $100 a day all throughout their journey.

Flanagan is a single mom who's 45 years of age and after being diagnosed by doctors with multiple sclerosis when she was 41, she instantly decided to book a round-the-world trip with her kids. "After a tough 12 months, I got the condition under control and realized life was too short." she said, "I wanted us to live and share something amazing together."

According to the Daily Mail, in June 2016, Flanagan spent all of her savings that amounted to $6,000 just to book those tickets for her two kids, Archie and Larissa. She then sold all of their possessions and also her business just to finance their globetrotting experiences. The three have been traveling the world for nine months now and some of their destinations included the US, Costa Rica and Italy.

With only a limited budget of $100 per day, the family have been trying to raise more money by doing odd jobs, getting involved in work exchange programs and accepting house-sitting opportunities. Although Lara has admitted to herself that she hasn't had much adult conversations recently, she's quite confident that their backpacking adventures are one of the best decisions they've ever made.

Metro reported that the whole travel-the-world thing wasn't really planned because Lisa just thought of going for a short vacation at first. After learning that the agency which she contacted was having a sale for round-the-world trips, she just immediately flipped the switch and within a few months, the three are off on an exciting adventure.

The single mom has been documenting their trips so that they would have fun memories to talk about once the whole adventure is over. Now, their next stop would be Thailand and Cambodia before the the kids go back to school and Lara goes back to her normal life.
