It has been just a few days ago when we reported that "Hunter x Hunter" creator Yoshihiro Togashi has been extremely quiet as to whether there is going to be a chapter 361. Although long breaks are not new to the series, it's getting more and more frustrating every time.

The series did come back momentarily last year, only to go on a break again. The manga's publisher Shueisha previously said that Togashi's condition has gotten worse, "necessitating a break again." He added that at this time, "it is not certain when we will be able to resume the series."

ComicBook said that there is no definite answer as to when the manga series will return, and that there have been reports claiming that "Weekly Shonen Jump" is looking to extend creative control for the manga, and that while Togashi is recuperating from chronic back pain, his wife, Naoko Takeuchi, may take over doing "Hunter x Hunter" chapter 361.

However, hiring new writers may compromise the overall quality of the manga series, and Togashi is undoubtedly a very talented artist. It would be hard to match his skills. The manga has been in "Weekly Shonen Jump" since 1998, and regardless of the long breaks that it has suffered, "Hunter X Hunter" has a huge following still.

In 2012, the manga series sold over 60.5 million collected volumes in Japan, making it Shueisha's eighth best-selling manga series. "Hunter X Hunter" has received critical acclaim, and canceling the manga will definitely make a lot of fans furious - especially those that have been patiently waiting the whole time.

Crunchyroll reported that for now, fans can shift their attention to the "Hunter x Hunter" and "Monster Hunter XX" collaboration. The collaboration brings Gon with a new set of armor parts to collect, including a "Gon Head" (head part), and "Gon Suit" (body part).
