For the seriously outdoorsy traveler, treks are a fantastic way to experience the stunning terrain and natural landscape of a country while getting an epic work out. From Europe to Tasmania and South America, these treks are ones surely not to miss out on your next adventure.

Inca Trail, Peru

One of the most famous trails in the world and one of the most stunning. The 43 km trail that was created by Incas brings in thousands of visitors yearly. The trail goes from the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu and the views are stunning mountains, cliff ruins and an unforgettable view into Peruvian history and culture.

The long distance bushwalk is a 65 km test of endurance which takes approximately  six days. The trek takes travelers through the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park which is part of the stunning Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. From forests, glacial lakes and waterfalls, the trek is a beautiful way to see Tasmanian nature at its finest.

Many parts of Bhutan are still untouched and remote and this trek takes you through the Lunana region of Bhutan and passes through high Himalayan passes. Travelers will be able to view the mountain, Gangkhar Puensum, which is the highest unclimbed peak on the globe.

A trek through Corsica can take 15 days to complete the 104 mile hike. The area is known for stunning landscapes including craters, peat bogs, forests and granite moonscapes that will make this intensive trek worthwhile and unforgettable. The path is a difficult one and is often steep and rocky but it's one of the best treks in the world.
