A first look at Hela (Cate Blanchett), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and Chris Hemsworth's short hair for "Thor: Ragnarok" has been revealed. Hemsworth's "rebirth" for his character Thor also hints the possibility that he will be staying with the franchise for a while.

The new look of the characters and Hemsworth's short hair was shared by Entertainment Weekly. The image shows Hemsworth in the middle with a short hair and holding two swords while Blanchett's Hela, the Goddess of Death, is on one side, and Thompson's Valkyrie.

The report said that the new look for Thor in the third movie somehow signifies a fresh start for the franchise. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said that they are lucky enough to get to a third movie for "Thor" but also said it is their obligation not to fall into what he calls "threequel-itis," which means running the franchise's creativity a little thin already.

As for Hemsworth, he likes the new look and it means he won't "have to sit in the makeup chair" for an hour each morning before they start filming his sequences. Hemsworth also said the new look seems like a "rebirth" for him and the character Thor.

Rob Keyes of Screen Rant reports that the "rebirth" could also hint that Hemsworth will be staying with the franchise for the long-term. With Hemsworth's Thor one of the least successful character in the box office, compared to Iron Man and Captain America, there were rumors that Hemsworth will just let his contract with the studio expire after "Avengers 3."

But that's all likely to change, especially with "Thor: Ragnarok" taking on a comedic tone. Keyes said that Hemsworth wants "Thor 3" to be more comedic, similar to that of "Guardians of the Galaxy," and he is getting it.

Hemsworth has found some success in his supporting comedic roles in movies such as "Ghostbusters" and in the "Vacation" short videos. And with Keyes saying "Thor: Ragnarok" is shaping up to be one of Marvel's funniest movies, it's likely that the Australian actor will stay with the franchise for a while.
