Fans of "Outlander" are going to see an older Claire and Jamie for Season 3. When the show returns in September, it would have been 20 years ago since Season 2 ended in the show's lifetime. Will the two decades of being apart from each other change the main characters.

Caitriona Balfe gave some details about how her character will be changed. The plot of the upcoming season will show her journey without Jamie, and of course dealing with her 20th century life. Fans were able to see an older Claire in Season 2, but there's more to come in Season 3.

During an interview with Bustle, Balfe said that her character has changed since the last season. "Outlander" fans would find her as someone who has learned to smooth out the "harsher edges" of her personality. This means that she won't be as stubborn and as quick-tempered as she used to.

According to Mashable, the plot for Season 3 says that the story will pick right up after Claire travels through the stones to go back to her 1948 life. She is pregnant with Jamie's child, but she will go back to her first husband, Frank, and she will struggle with the effects of her sudden reappearance.

Season 3 will follow Claire's life in Boston, while Jamie is left fighting the Battle of Culloden before the two of them will reunite. The official synopsis says that both Jamie and Claire must find a way to be back to each other. But when they do, will they be the same people who parted those many years ago?

Claire will now be a mother to Bree, who is headstrong just like her. Motherhood will definitely change her. But fans need not worry, since even if the casts are changed, "Outlander" Season 3 will still have a lot of steamy sex, as confirmed by Balfe herself.
