The hit anime series "Yuri!!! On Ice" continues to be a fan favorite, winning the Animation of The Year: Anime Fan Award at the Tokyo Anime Award Festival. As part of the festival's celebration, the first three episodes of the hit series will be screened on March 11, the second day of the four-day festival.

According to a report from Anime News Network, the hit anime series received a total of 41,439 votes to get first place. It was followed by "Joker Game" with 37,552 votes and "High Speed! - Free! Starting Days with 16,049 votes.

The report adds that the anime the fans voted for are those that were aired between October 18, 2015, and October 15, 2016. The fans got to choose from 100 anime series, which was already narrowed down from the larger list of 550.

Fans were allowed to vote once per day and the poll ended last Thursday, February 16, 2017. Crunchyroll reports that the award got a total of 257,348 votes. This is a 20 percent increase compared to last year's poll.

As a way for the organizers to celebrate the award that "Yuri!!! On Ice" got, the first three episode will be screened at the Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro theater's screen 1, on March 11 from 11 a.m. until 12:40 p.m. The Tokyo Anime Award Festival will be held on March 10 - 13 in Ikebukuro in Tokyo. Advance tickets are now available for 1,500 yen and fans can purchase it until March 8.

Aside from "Yuri!!! On Ice," "Joker Game," and "High Speed," joining them in the top 10 are "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans" at fourth, followed by "Mob Psycho 100," "Dream Festival," and "TO BE HERO."  Rounding out the top 10 anime are "Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare" at sixth, followed by "Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!
