Katamama boutique/design hotel is a little sister to the more famous Potato Head Beach Club in Bali Indonesia. It is located near the center of Seminyak, just a stroll away from original Potato Head Beach Club building. The hotel opened just last spring.

"Katamama is a boutique hotel made by artisans. Every detail has been handmade or handpicked, using Indonesia's centuries-old traditions interpreted in a modern and timeless context. All private suites are our expression of understated luxury", according to Katamama. They also said that attention to detail and craftsmanship accompanies their quality service delivered in a personal and warm way by individuals who are passionate about their craft.

One will notice the angular brick mass of the exterior, the beautifully arranged rooms and the well designed corridors. The pool lies within a lovely hidden raised garden on top the complex's coffee shop and boutique which has stylish ornaments.

Locally made using top-quality Indonesian materials are the brick walls, the wooden furniture and the beautiful terrazzo tiles in the toilets. Internet access is available via Free WiFi. All rooms are large enough for wheelchair users and ramps are available around the hotel.

One dining place here is a branch of Aussie-based Spanish joint MoVida. Aside from the cocktails, hipster coffee and haute tapas, local ingredients are cooked well, like calamares in squid ink dressing, and patatas bravas. There is no buffet breakfast: everything is ordered, from the smoothies and juices to meals such as shakshuka-style baked eggs served with toast.

Aside from bars and banging clubs you'll find some delightful places to eat like Biku, which serves Indonesian dishes in comfy surroundings, and, a food truck named The Halal Boys serving Middle Eastern food, reports Independent Co UK.

There are the Island and Pool View Suites, while the biggest, the Katamama Suite, has two bedrooms and panoramic windows with a view of the ocean. The bed in the Garden Suite is wide, and looks out towards double doors going to a small private courtyard. The big bathtub and monsoon shower has wide floor-to-ceiling windows.
