Who wouldn't want Groot to star in his own movie? "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" won't be released until a few months from now, but people are already talking about a Groot spinoff - and Vin Diesel himself said that it is likely to happen.

Yahoo! Movies reported that Diesel is going to reprise his voice role as Groot for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." The actor said that he already has ideas as to who will join Groot if he will get his own movie.

During his interview with MTV News UK, the "Fast and Furious" actor said that he would like Groot to stand face to face with Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. He said that he is interested to see what happens if the two are in the same room.

A stand-alone Groot film could become a reality and Diesel is confident about it.  He said that he thinks it's inevitable. "He was already one of the most unique characters in the Marvel universe," the actor said. He added that Groot is such an interesting character and that there is so much to learn about him.

"I think what Marvel has done - primarily what James Gunn has done - to realize that character has exceeded beyond any of its expectations," Diesel said.

But, Groot fans, don't take this seriously just yet. Diesel is known to discuss ideas openly about future projects in interviews and social media even before they actually happen. Until Marvel confirms a Groot spinoff, all this remains to be just a grain of salt.

Meanwhile, Diesel's character in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is actually a baby Groot. Many said that this is a marketing strategy, but writer/director James Gunn explained that the reason why is because Baby Groot will help continue the story of the Guardians.
