"The Town of Light" is now on PS4. It is a game based on true-to-life events on the Volterra Psychiatric Asylum in Tuscany, Italy. The asylum for the mentally-ill has been operative for almost 100 years until it was closed in 1978.

The news was confirmed by Luca Dalco, art director and screenwriter of "The Town of Light." According to him, the game is coming to Sony's system this year and the date of release will be announced soon. Dalco further said that they have done intensive research on the history of the asylum to offer a realistic approach to the game.

The game is not suitable for children as it has "delicate themes" and elements that the children cannot grasp yet according to Gamespot.

Dalco explained about banning the game to children. He said it has moments that are too hard that are not suited for them but cannot be slashed from the totality of the game. They are deemed relevant to those who suffered under the system which was overwhelmed and cannot answer for all the demands.

However today, Dalco said, everything is different because of the advancement in the care of mental illnesses have been made worldwide.

The PS4 version is impregnated with enhanced features such as visual effects and fresh story and gameplay elements to keep players engaged. The player can, for instance, act as a resident of the asylum and he will then piece together his past before the facility was ruined.

Buzzfeed shared a glimpse of the ruins of the former asylum where the characters and location of "The Town of Light" were based. It is a place not fitted for humans due to the cruelty of the administrators in dealing with the mentally sick. Watch out for the release of this PS4 version of a story long forgotten by those who did not come out alive from the "place of no return."
