Netherrealm just came out with a new trailer for "Injustice 2," which shows the storyline for the sequel game and one of Superman's villain Brainiac possibly pulling the strings. Plus another Superman villain, Darkseid, is available for players who preorder the game.

According to Sam Barsanti of A.V. Club, the trailer showed Brainiac to be the one to pull the strings in the sequel of the "Injustice: Gods Among Us" video game. Brainiac is one of Superman's most classic and iconic villains.

Barsanti adds that the second installment of the game will not be as straightforward as the first one, as the heroes and villains are likely to team up with different people this time around. He said this game will not be as simple as just stopping an evil Superman.

The 2013 "Injustice" game saw an alternate universe where Superman kill the joker and become a dictator with other heroes joining him. He was opposed, though, by Batman and was helped by heroes from the original universe to stop the Kryptonian.

But it's not only Brainiac who will be the new Superman villain making his appearance in "Injustice 2," as the end of the trailer showed Darkseid will also be available for the players. He will only be available, though, as a preorder bonus.

Eddie Makuch of Game Spot, though, said that it's possible Darkseid will eventually be available, even if players didn't preorder the game. Referencing Netherrealm's other game "Mortal Kombat X," he said the game developer offered Goro as a preorder bonus but eventually made him available to all the players as a DLC.

"Injustice 2" is set to launch on May 16, 2016. Check out the trailer for the game in the video below. The game is only available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and there's no news yet if it will be available in PC
