Qatar Airways will soon land in Las Vegas. Starting January 8 next year, the carrier will add Las Vegas in its route map.  The new route will be the company's 11th to the United States and will be landing in McCarran International Airport, about five miles from the city. The plane will depart from Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.

His Excellency Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive of Qatar Airways Group said that adding Las Vegas to their destination has been long overdue. He added that Las Vegas is very inviting for travellers from the east because of its glamour and style. The launching of the flight will ensure patrons of Qatar Airways to enjoy the entertainment capital of the world, Mr Al Baker continued.

It will also give Qatar Airways the chance to provide US-based passengers with additional choices for their departure. The airlines boast itself for having 150 unique destinations around the globe. The new route will be the airway's second route from US western party, after it launched their Los Angeles to Doha route in January 2016.

This year is the 10th year anniversary of Qatar Airways flying to America. Its maiden flight took place in 2007 from New York to Newark. At present, the company is serving 10 American cities.  These cities are Boston, Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago, Houston, Miami, Los Angeles, New York, Washington DC and Philadelphia.  Boeing 777-200LR will be used on its first flight to Las Vegas.
