"The Big Bang Theory" renewal is not yet in the bag. January 2017 is the time where renewals and cancellations happen on various TV networks. One of the shows whose renewal is not yet decided is the Jim Parsons show.

CBS recently announced the shows that have the renewal go signal. However, "The Big Bang Theory" was not one of them. The show is now on its season 10. News of its cancellation has been on the rise lately due to contract expiration of most of its main cast. The renewal was pending due to salary negotiations which are seen as the reason for the delayed renewal of season 11.

CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller played down the apprehension as per Cinema Blend. He said that negotiation is on-going. Business goes on as usual and they are optimistic of the outcome. He added that no one knows what will happen with season 11 and beyond contract negotiations. Geller further explained that in some cases contract disputes are so hard that the show is shut down permanently. "The Big Bang Theory" is different. With this, fans and actors alike remain hopeful.

Jim Parsons who plays Sheldon Cooper and Kunal Nayyar who plays Raj Koothrappali are putting themselves in the middle. Unlike Kaley Cuoco who is highly-positive. Fans of the longest-running comedy show are still hopeful. CBS has renewed the show during the back-end of season 7 but the contract negotiations ended after season 8-10. So probably things are going in order inside the network.

CBS and the show creators have assured that season 10 will not be the last as the cast is also amenable to do another season. There must be more things not settled yet as the network has lots to consider. One is Jim Parson's spin-off. The other is that they are putting things in the right perspective before the renewal negotiations. Perhaps the insiders are still discussing how Howard and Bernadette's baby will look like.

The fans can be contented watching the current season which is getting exciting episodes now that a baby is on the storyline. The show airs on CBS on Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET. "The Big Bang Theory" renewal might just be sooner as expected. After all, the show's fan base remains intact.
