HSBC Expat Explorer Survey calculated and issued a list of the top countries to go to if a person is planning to start a career abroad. HSBC, together with YouGov, a market research firm, has conducted the survey to over 26,000 migrant workers from more than a hundred countries and thereafter ranked the countries of which among the is the best place to work at in terms of salary, career progression, job security and other aspects a worker must consider.

According to The Huffington Post, respondents of the survey reveal that the average of the yearly revenue of expats in Switzerland was 188,275 US Dollars compared to the 97,419 US Dollars global average of immigrants.

Germany tops HSBC's rank in terms of job security and economic confidence. Foreign workers also suggest that if one is planning to start a career in Germany, he must first do some language short courses before coming to the country to lessen language barrier.

More than seventy percent of the foreign workers in Sweden claim that the culture of work and career in Sweden is far more improved compared to the present work culture in their respective home countries.

Despite the small geographical dimensions of the United Arab Emirates, the country is still considered by the expats to be the best place to be when it comes to working abroad. HSBC survey reveals that UAE places third when it comes to wage growth.

Respondents of the survey claimed that working in Norway is ideal especially for people who are at the family stage of their life. The balance of work and life in Norway is also incomparable.

Singapore tops HSBC's survey when it comes to politics and entrepreneurship. Expats say that working in Singapore is endlessly challenging and endlessly stimulating but wholly worth it.

Just like Norway, Austria is also considered by the migrant workers to be the perfect workplace for people who are already working for their own families. Norway also tops the survey in terms of family health.

Many of the respondents affirm that Hong Kong is a very good choice if a person decides to improve his individual career outside his native country. The key to succeed in Hong Kong is to just be open and positive, a foreign worker said.

More than sixty percent of the migrant workers in United Kingdom reveal that they tend to discover and learn new skills during the duration of their work in the said country compared to their home country. UK ranks third in terms of career progression, according to the survey.

The survey reveals that some of the employers in Bahrain provide a yearly allowance to their foreign employees for their vacations back home which likewise attracts more migrant workers choose Bahrain for their careers.
