The TSA has gone loose on liquor rules. Those who want to buy alcohol abroad at a duty-free shop and don’t want to store it in their checked luggage when they have a connecting flight, can now do so.(Photo : Wikimedia)

With the TSA's strict liquid rule, large bottles of alcohol are definitely not allowed on flights. One woman with a large bottle of vodka at Washington Dulles International Airport didn't seem to know that until she got to the security checkpoint. Not wanting to let her alcohol go to waste, she started to share it with other travelers.

On Tuesday, a man named Adam Conner posted a photo to his Facebook account of the woman with her handle of vodka and explained the story behind it as he waited to board his plane at the Washington Airport.

"Woman at Dulles security line, unable to carry her plastic handle of Smirnoff vodka through security, is currently drinking it in line and offering swigs to other passengers. It's 7:30am and TSA is not amused," Conner shared with his friends.

Conner wasn't just a witness to the woman's antics. She even offered him some of her vodka.

Conner's friends were quite amused by the photo. It was liked over 360 times and shared over 230 times.

His friends wrote some humorous responses to the photo and the story.

"If loving this woman is wrong, I don't wanna be right," wrote Josh Goodman.

"A real friend would have given her some OJ...or some olives," wrote Jason Rosenberg.

"Plan B was pouring it into 20 - 3oz shampoo bottles," wrote Matt White, making a reference to the TSA's 3oz liquid rule.

The photo then made it onto Reddit on Wednesday, where it was seen by thousands. Some users shared their own stories of people trying to drink alcohol before airport security took it away.

User snarlyj, who had the top comment, wrote:

"I remember flying out of San Francisco right after that 'scare' in 2006, when almost no one knew about the new regulations. Several people in line had NICE bottles of wine they'd picked up, and there wasn't an easy method of suddenly shipping them or carefully putting them in checked luggage or whatever. Everyone was just being told to throw their liquid away.

When I got in line for security, bottles of wine were being passed up and down the line as people had tries. I was about 18 an LOVING IT haha. A security guard told me it'd been happening for over an hour (with new people joining the line and opening their own) and "hey, we aren't going to stop it, unless it starts being a problem."

I like to think it continued all day."

While some airlines serve alcohol on planes, being highly intoxicated is frowned upon and in many cases, it doesn't go so well.

In September, a male model who was drunk on a plane began to harass other passengers and even tried to force a woman to kiss him.

In August, a tourist was so drunk at an airport in Italy that he fell asleep on the baggage belt and went through the x-ray machine.

In June, a businessman who was drunk started to hand out cash to his fellow passengers. When they wouldn't accept it, he threw a fit and later went on to destroy his cell phone and eat the Sim Card.
