Josh Sankey, the comedian who went on a cross-country trip with no other currency but bacon, has completed his journey. As planned, Sankey completed the Bacon Barter journey on September 23 when he reached Los Angeles, California.  His journey was a unique one and he made some interesting trades that helped him along his way across the country.

On September 9, Sankey, a comedian from New Castle, Pennsylvania, began his journey in New York City. He set out of his trip with 3,000 pounds of uncooked bacon, but no cash or credit cards. His goal was to make it to Los Angeles by Sept. 23 by trading his bacon for things like gas and lodging, but he wound up getting even more along the way.

The trip was part of a promotion for bacon producer Oscar Meyer. Film crews followed him along the way and documented all of the bacon trades that he made. Sankey was able to make many of his trades through communication with fans on Facebook and Twitter. People from all over the country were giving Sankey offers in exchange for bacon.

He was able to trade bacon for a stay in stranger's houses for a night, a hotel and even a mansion, which cost him 250 pounds of bacon. Despite how pricey gas is these days, Sankey was able to continuously fill up his tank through bacon exchanges.

The most expensive trade he made was to convince the town of Cedar City, Utah to proclaim itself Sizzle City on September 21 when he stopped by. The renaming cost him 300 pounds of bacon.

While that may seem a bit outrageous, that was nothing compared to an earlier trade that he made.

The strangest trade that Sankey made was paying a fan with 200 bricks of bacon to get a bacon tattoo, which cost another 200 bricks of bacon in Louisville, Kentucky.

Sankey was also able to do some pretty fun things. He got two tickets to a Jets game. He was also able to ride some classic and high speed cars at Mid-America Motorplex in Iowa. He got to meet Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton at Fort Cody in North Platte, NE and got his autograph.

Sankey actually completed his goal and made it to Los Angeles on the expected date, September 23. Once he reached Los Angeles, he was greeted with a bacon beach bash at Hennessy's Tavern in Hermosa Beach.

He took to Twitter to update his fans and explain his excitement.

Made it to @HBHennesseys for my #baconbarter blow out!!! Let's do it!! NY 2 LA in 14 days w nothing but Butcher Thick Cut bacon!! #gotit

Sankey made some last minute bacon trades at the party, but he still had over 1,000 pounds of bacon left.

He also took to Twitter to thank everyone that he met and that helped him along the way.

"Still can't believe I really made it from NY 2 LA w #baconbarter !!! Thank u so much to everybody for their overwhelming support!!!" he wrote.
