Popular Italian iOS hacker, Lucas Todesco, may soon release a user-friendly jailbreak version. Just last week, Todesco announced on a Twitter post that "there is a high chance" that he "will take up whatever project 0 drops and write a full jailbreak on top of it."  Todesco also said that iOS users will have a high chance of getting the next jailbreak from him if they stay on iOS 10.1.1.

Meanwhile, Chinese programming team, Pangu, is still silent about the jailbreak tool that fans have been waiting to see since they introduced it at the Mobile Security Conference (MOSEC) back in July. That time, though, the team was only able to jailbreak the first beta version of the iOS 10 when it was still being developed by Apple, The Christian Times reported.

It was previously reported that Pangu is just waiting for a more stable 10.2 version before releasing their own iOS 10 jailbreak. But Apple already has released iOS 10.2, which is deemed their best yet, and still the team has not made an update as to when their jailbreak will really be made public

Now, Apple has drawn the battle line for hackers with the with the iOS 10.2 public release, and only Pangu and Todesco are left standing to penetrate Apple's software. Todesco's last known statement was on December 16 when he made the post on Twitter, but so far, no additional statements have been released.  So no one really knows how close with the jailbreak release.

Todesco's release will essentially use the Google Project Zero exploit from Ian Beer shown on a bug report that he filed back in October.  An update made on December 15 states that this exploit works with versions earlier than iOS 10.1.1, but then again, this is yet to be confirmed.

It's a race between Todesco and Pangu, and fans are hoping that one of them would release the jailbreak update soon. Many say that the iOS 10 jailbreak may come out so late that only a few iPhone users will be able to take advantage of it.
