Smartphone manufacturer Motorola said that it is planning to roll-out Moto M. The Lenovo-owned company first released Android 7.0 Nougat update to Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Droid Force before seeding it to Moto G4 Plus over-the-air.

Moto G4, on the other hand, are G4 series phones which will also be released with the new OS. The series will consist of Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, and Moto G4 Play.

There are reports claiming that some owners of Moto G4 and G4 Plus in India already received the Nougat update. According to Android Police, NPJ25.93-11 update notification for the G4 is confirmed to be a final build, and not just a beta build.

In October, Motorola announced the Nougat update for its Moto G4 and G4 Plus smartphones as well as posted release notes for the update on its India website, making fans believe that the rollout has indeed begun.

Nougat is the seventh major version of Android. This operating system introduces features like a split-screen display and an experimental multi-window model is also an available hidden feature. The notification shade is also redesigned, featuring a smaller row of icons for settings.

Android Marshmallow's power saving mechanism, "Doze" was expanded to include a state activated when the phone is running on a battery and the screen has been off for a period of time. Nougat introduces a "seamless" system for enabling automatic updates.

Meanwhile, reports claim that Motorola is set to release Moto G5 and G5 Plus, so some stores are offering a big discount on Moto G4. Phone Arena confirmed of their holiday sale with G4 models with up to a 40 percent discount.
