We've seen Rick called the Federation and turned himself in while Jerry has been assigned to his new job by the Feds. While everybody was glued to their seats on what will happen next, Adult Swim dropped the bomb that the next season will premiere next year.

Cinema Blend reported that show creators, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, said Rick and Morty will be coming back to Cartoon Network sooner than expected. In fact, it was to be scheduled in December 2016 for their Christmas special.

During the Rick and Morty Panel with Dan Harmon and Dino Stamatopoulos at Magic City Comic Con Jan. 2016, Harmon said, "I think Season 3 is, we're targeting around the end of this year. You guys do realize we're at the beginning of this year?" The show will also have four more episodes than the last two seasons.

But it seems like that's not going to happen. The show ended October 2015 and the only thing viewers can hold on to is the words by Mr. Poopy Butthole at the post credit scene to wait for a year and a half or longer for Season 3 to see how they will unravel the mess.

Butthole, who have been shot by Beth, seems to be having delusions, but he's the only one character the viewers are still hoping to say the truth, though. Was he speaking major plots when he jumped on the pizza delivery guy babbling that Morty and his family will save Rick?

No one knows for sure, but he's the only hope to the revelation of the Season 3 premiere. If the show is delayed, does that mean the creators will make it for fans to lose their minds when this comedic animation will be aired?

If Butthole is correct, Rick and Morty will be back on April 2017...or longer. Whenever it is, it'll be back.
