The reality tv star and her basketball player boyfriend are going to their first divorce case hearing today in Los Angeles. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries were married almost a year ago in a lavish setting in Montecito, California. Kardashian reportedly filed for divorce only 72 days after the wedding yet the divorce proceedings have dragged on for months.
In court, Kardashian's attorney Laura Wasser and Humphries' attorney Marshall Waller appeard in court before the judge at the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Reportedly Humphries' lawyer has said that he believes it will be at least four months before he is ready for a trial and that Kardashian's side has not been coorperative. "I don't want to use the word uncooperative, but they are not making the process easier," Waller told the judge according to E!.
Waller said that he was unable to serve depositions on Kris Jenner but has obtained her business records.
He is seeking the information to try and prove that the marriage was a fraud and Kardashian had no intention of going through with it. He is also trying to serve and depose Kardashian's current boyfriend Kanye West a long with 33 others.
Kardashian's lawyer Wasser said that her office has been more than cooperative and that Kardashian has incurred more than $250,000 in lawyer's fees. I'm at a loss to figure out what the holdup is. They had a prenup and were married 72 days, she said to E!.
The pair are still legally married until the divorce is final.
