Aside from the news that "Dragon Ball Super" will officially be made available in the West subtitled and via streaming services, it looks like Funimation will be handling the English dub and dealing with the wider distribution. This is a great news, considering that Crunchyroll, Daisuki and Anime Lab are also part of handling the subtitled release of the series.

With the long history of Funimation with "Dragon Ball" franchise, it has recently handled the localization as well as the release of the new "Dragon Ball Z" movies. Gen Fukunaga, CEO and founder of Funimation also had this to say about the news, "We are thrilled to continue our great partnership with Toei Animation. Like with the recent blockbuster Dragon Ball Z movies, having original creator Akira Toriyama passionately involved in Dragon Ball Super is so wonderful to see and for fans to experience."

Moreover, Masayuki Endo, President of Toei Animation followed up with, "We are delighted to introduce Dragon Ball Super to a fantastic audience together with Funimation. Dragon Ball Super encompasses everything fans love about Dragon Ball, while taking the mythology to a whole new level. Toei's team of talented animators and creators have put their passion and imagination into this series."

The agreement will permit Funimation to stream, offer direct downloads and allow home video releases for "Dragon Ball Super" in the U.S. as well as Canada. According to Forbes, it's also a multi-year deal and includes broadcasting as well as merchandising rights. Funimation will also be streaming subtitled episodes of "Dragon Ball Super" through their Funimation Now service. After the much-anticipated wait to see "Dragon Ball Super" come Westward, this Funimation deal is the final piece of the puzzle.

Furthermore, the said English subtitled episodes of "Dragon Ball Super" will be from episodes 1 to 10 and 47 to 64 and added to its library at 10 a.m. PT. Episodes 11 to 46 will be included "once subtitling has been completed," as reported by IGN. Meanwhile, Dragon Ball Super made its debut in the West on several anime streaming websites earlier this month, and first aired in Japan in July 2015.
