It appears that Mariah Carey has found comfort in the arms of another during a difficult time in her life.

E! News learned that the world-renowned singer became close with one of her dancers amid problems with James Packer. In fact, a source claims, "James was not in the right mind for months. Mariah was in essence an abandoned woman."

The source adds that it happened in a time that Carey began building a bond with her dancer. "While in Vegas, she turned to and developed a close relationship with Brian Tanaka."

Mirror said that Packer have approved of Carey's friendship with the hunky dancer, who has shared a lot of photos alongside the star in previous weeks, describing her a "beautiful person", while traveling around on her private jet.

There is also news that Packer and Tanaka had a heated exchange in June during one of Carey's Las Vegas shows at Caesar's Palace.

Tanaka is one of Carey's favored dancers, even appearing alongside her in Complex magazine this year, and he is not far from her side in backstage photos with celebrity guests.

It was reported that Carey and the Australian businessman are "trying to work things out." The couple are just taking a break after their fight in Greece and are now "discussing" if they'll get back together.

The singer's representative said: "Mariah and James had a fight in Greece, and have not seen each other since."

After the news that Carey and Packer decided to call off their engagement, another source close to the pair said that Packer's behavior played a role in Carey's decision to part ways.

"James is not in a mentally healthy place right now and he has not been present for her," the insider said. "Unfortunately, his absence and behavior was not a good situation for her, so she had to leave him."

However, a representative for Packer said, "This is simply untrue."
