Consumers have been waiting for the release of the new MacBook Pro expected at an Apple event this Thursday. In line with this, an analyst stated that the MacBook Pro's supply may be limited.

"Production is starting pretty late. Pretty late for a launch that's this month," according to Rhoda Alexander, an analyst at IHS Markit Technology in a phone interview with Brook Crothers from Forbes.

According to Cothers, the production of the MacBook Pro started in the fourth quarter. And the delay on the production will only mean that the amount of the units they will be able to produce before its launch this year is limited.

There is still good news since aside from the MacBook Pros which were redesigned y Apple, the company is also expected to release a 13-inch MacBook (probably an Air) and will probably be announced once the MacBook Pro has been released.

According to Alexander, Apple has not changed the basic design of the 15.4- inch MacBook Pro since 2012 and said that it's just fine for Apple. "What they need to do is have an updated design and incorporate features that continue to justify the premium customers continue to pay for these products. You have to have the product right and have all of the bugs worked out of it," she said.

Alexander also mentioned that the good thing about Apple taking its time to redesign the MacBook Pro as well as its other devices which is in contrast with its competitors is that it proves that "when you design that initial product it should actually work for a long time and be relevant for a long period of time."
